The role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced People (HR) Business Partner within a diverse travel company that is embarking on an exciting new three strategy plan as we emerge from the global pandemic.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading the HR agenda for our Travelopia India colleagues, who are a mix of Business Unit and Travelopia Group Functions employees.  There are significant growth plans for these groups and the role-holder will be required to partner with leaders and managers to drive forward the People agenda across all functions and to support in the creation of a high-performance culture where all employees can thrive.

What you will be doing:

  • Supporting the UK-based People Director – Group Functions and the US-based VP HR for Enchanting Travels with the significant growth plans for new hires.  Ensuring our resourcing plan is robust and being involved in all selection processes for India-based hires to ensure a great cultural fit
  • Supporting leaders and employees as we emerge from the global pandemic and adopt a new hybrid way of working; ensuring the right balance of flexibility for all whilst ensuring a safe return to office working
  • Owning and continuously developing a communications and engagement plan which is inclusive of all employees regardless of role or team and ensuring that Travelopia India colleagues feel connected as a community
  • Building people management capability by coaching, challenging, and influencing managers and leaders as they think about how to create a high-performance culture and drive high levels of employee engagement in their teams
  • Creating an L&D plan which provides a blend of soft and technical skills development for employees
  • Being the subject matter expert on all Indian employment practices and local policies and processes
  • Leading on cyclical employee-focused activities such as Employee Engagement, Reward, and Performance Management in partnership with the People Centres of Excellence

What we are looking for:

  • Demonstrable HR experience in HR generalist roles, ideally within fast-growing multinational companies
  • Evidence of independent working and decision making with the ability to identify priorities and act upon them in a timely manner
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organisational skills
  • Quick thinking, results-orientated, and pro-active
  • Candidates who possess a natural authority and judgment, are effective communicators with strong influencing skills and who have the ability to establish trust and respect at all levels of an international organisation, acting with intercultural empathy, honesty and transparency
  • Track record of introducing new initiatives, reducing cost, managing change and delivering tangible results to the business
  • Ability to coach, mentor and challenge managers and leaders in their thinking and decision making
  • In-depth understanding of current India employment law and HR best practice
