Financial Analyst

We are currently looking for a new Financial Analyst to come and join our team at our flagship BVI base which has over 300 yachts, and a resort with a hotel, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. The role of the Financial Analyst is to provide financial and commercial insight to support effective decision-making in the BVI and wider Caribbean charter bases. This will include review and preparation of historical and forecast financial results, analysis and presentation of financial and operational data, and the monitoring of KPIs.

This is a key role in the finance team and the successful candidate will be technically strong, skilled in advanced data analysis, pro-active, and able to work independently. The role will report to the Head of FP&A Caribbean but will also involve building strong relationships with the operational and finance teams across the Caribbean bases.

What you will be doing

  • Review monthly Base results, investigate areas of overspend and produce variance analysis including commentary
  • Develop monthly reporting packs to review with the Base Managers to provide financial insight and accountability
  • Assist with monthly forecasts, annual budget and 3-year plan for BVI (charter and Resort), Windwards and Bahamas Caribbean bases
  • Provide analysis and insight for yacht maintenance costs – identifying trends in the spend across different yacht types, ages, and locations
  • Identify areas for development and continuous improvement of processes
  • Prepare business cases for new investment opportunities or strategic business decisions, and present these to senior management / executive team.
  • Work closely with the BVI Resort management to develop margin, pricing, and profitability analysis, and KPI data for the hotel, restaurants, coffee shop and retail spaces
  • Business partner with the Base Managers and Operations Managers across the Caribbean bases you are responsible for to drive insight

What we are looking for

To be successful in this role you will be a full or part qualified accountant with demonstrable industry experience. You will have an acute attention to detail, be highly analytical, and have the ability to identify data patterns and analyze large volumes of data. The preferred candidate would also have strong communication skills, particularly in explaining finance information to non-financial colleagues.  You would have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, managing various projects at once. Advanced Excel skills, as well as previous exposure to working in the hospitality industry, would be advantageous.
