Senior Financial Accountant

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be an integral part of the Le Boat finance team, which is spread across the UK, France and Ireland. You will be involved in all aspects of accounting for the UK and Canada, including management reporting and analysis, statutory accounts, VAT accounting and tax reporting. You will work with both the Le Boat finance team and wider Travelopia finance function, the operating bases and managers and local accountants.

What you will be doing:

As a Senior Financial Accountant for Le Boat you will own all reporting and control for our UK and Canadian entities. You will own the full P&L and balance sheet.  

  • Monthly reporting and analysis for the UK and Canada operations, including preparation and posting of accruals and prepayments, bank reconciliations, posting cash and other journals and capitalisation and depreciation of fixed assets
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Statutory accounts preparation (consolidated and multi-currency)
  • Timely submission of accurate VAT returns and other statutory returns
  • You will also provide forecast input to the Finance Director for your entities and work with base managers to understand all costs
  • Other tasks include audit liaison, reporting ABTA and TICO (Canadian equivalent of ABTA) as well as working on adhoc projects.

What we are looking for:

In order to be successful in this role, you will be a Qualified Chartered Accountant and have prior experience with the preparation of statutory accounts, you will also have good knowledge of IFRS and VAT reporting. We are looking for you to be hands-on with the ability to look at the bigger picture, understanding complex group structures and you will have a desire to continuously improve processes and knowledge. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and a desire to get it right the first time and will be proactive in finding solutions.
