Head of Commercial Finance and Reporting

This is a key role within the Travelopia Tailormade division, working closely with the Finance Director in leading the business through the current transformation agenda and strategic priorities. Reporting into the Tailormade FD and managing a team of around eight staff, the role is responsible for the timely reporting of the division as well as the commercial finance aspects.

What you will be doing

As the Head of Commercial Finance and Reporting you will be responsible for:

  • Leading and developing the financial reporting team to promote a culture of excellence
  • Continuous improvement in the efficiency, relevance, quality and consistency of accounting and reporting. The business has recently implemented SAP reporting, review of processes in the new reporting environment
  • Managing the monthly MI, P&L and balance sheet reporting process, including consolidation processes for the Tailormade business (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow reporting, one-offs, risk management reporting, initiative reporting of P&L/KPIs)
  • Leading and managing the planning & budgeting processes for P/L, KPIs, balance sheet and cashflow
  • Develop the three-year plan and budget. Understand key performance drivers and challenge the risks & opportunities to delivering forecast. Working with the Business Partners, determine contingencies and opportunities that can be leveraged
  • Advising on all aspects of financial strategy delivery and other significant operational matters in conjunction with the finance business partners in UK, Ireland and Scandinavia
  • Preparation of the monthly Business Review pack and Board presentations
  • Propose FX purchase, ensuring that FX hedging is within policy
  • Oversea the identification, development and delivery of the commercial and financial aspects of strategic projects and initiatives including business cases development, financial benefits analysis and risks management. Ownership capex business cases, to include external and internal capitalisation
  • Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations where appropriate
  • Oversee the annual audit process, tax and other regulatory reporting processes.

 What we are looking for:

  • ACA or ACCA qualified finance professional with a minimum of 5 years’ post qual experience
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial finance experience in industry or in the advisory arm of an accounting firm is preferable
  • Experience of leading and development teams
  • Strong modelling and excel skills with ability to process and summarise large amount of data
  • Business partnering & strategic skills – ability to challenge and influence at senior levels
  • Experience of using SAP or other similar nominal ledge systems
  • Able to build relationships across all levels of the organisation
  • Problem solving mindset with the motivation to dive into the detail when required
  • Ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
