Junior Test Analyst

We are building an industry leading IT and Digital delivery capability within the Marine brands at Travelopia, ready to meet the demands of the brands we support over the next few years. As a member of the Marine IT Delivery Team, the Junior Test Analyst will be a functional tester, supporting the websites for Sunsail, The Moorings and Le Boat.

You will ideally have experience of testing e-Commerce sites, ideally within the Travel industry – however we will consider people without Travel industry experience if you can demonstrate experience across a number of sectors. Above all else – you must be a team-player and willing to go the extra mile to ensure we always deliver to our commitments and amaze the brands we support with our delivery excellence.

As part of the Marine IT Delivery Team, the Junior Test Analyst role will primarily be involved with functional testing to support the Marine brands websites (Sunsail, The Moorings, Le Boat) and will also be responsible for testing, assisting in the analysis of new business requirements and functional specifications, and the preparation and co-ordination of test scripts. There may be scope in the future to support other IT initiatives across our brands – including CRM, mobile apps and integrations with our core selling platforms.

What you will be doing: 

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in project and development meetings
  • Ensure the quality of testing for all delivered developments and upgrades 
  • Liaise closely with all relevant parties to fully understand the functionality to be tested
  • Provide accurate estimates for all work as required
  • Define test cases and prepare test scripts, to maximise coverage and minimise execution time 
  • Execute test scripts / packages and ensure tests results are accurately recorded 
  • Assist in the set up and maintenance of an automated regression test pack
  • Provide sufficient detail to development team to facilitate the optimal resolution of bugs and provide any further assistance required 
  • Ensure all aspects of work meet expectations and company quality standards
  • Ensure a good level of teamwork, highlighting issues in good time and proactively suggesting solutions to resolve problems 
  • Effective prioritisation and meeting of deadlines 
  • Input into the improvement of existing testing methods that will increase quality and reduce cost 
  • Investigate new tools and methods that will increase quality and reduce cost
  • Champion and encourage adherence to agreed testing methods

What we are looking for: 

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Core Competencies

  • Demonstrable experience of professional testing, ideally e-Commerce and/or Travel related
  • Minimum ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing
  • Fresh graduates with a degree in computing
  • Experience of a range of testing methodologies and processes (Agile/Waterfall – Functional/Non Functional)
  • Experience of testing websites, big data and CRM systems
  • Experience of the implementation and ongoing maintenance of an automated regression test suite
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Ability to co-ordinate across multiple applications and test teams
  • Good attention to detail to capture inaccuracies and inconsistencies
  • Excellent knowledge of development life cycle
  • Experience of defect raising, tracking, management and retesting using a recognised tool
  • Able to work to deadlines and under pressure without compromising on quality
