A DAY IN THE LIFE OF LAURA TUFFIELD – PEOPLE SERVICES TEAM LEADER

So, how do you begin your day?

I start by saying good morning to the team on the 5th Floor, as the People team all sit together in one area – which includes business partnering, Talent and the Shared Services team. It is great to be surrounded by team members who all share the same vision – which is to offer our teams here at Travelopia the best experience regardless of if they are a candidate, right through to our current teams or people who are starting a period family leave! All these occasions come across our desks!

Have your responsibilities changed? If so how?

I initially joined Travelopia on a 3-month contract as a HR Administrator. This was my first ever experience within the People function and was a totally new industry for me to experience! 2 years later, I hold the role of People Services Team Leader – where I am directly responsible for the team I initially joined! So, it has been a very exciting 2 years, and one which has developed my skills and knowledge immensely.

Describe your workload. Does it vary?

Every day is totally different, as we deal with all areas of the business, across all the different brands within the portfolio. We manage varying different tasks which include onboarding of our new starters, contract changes, family leave administration and also our Global headcount tracking. So a simple answer would be yes – it varies greatly – which for someone who likes to be kept “on their toes” this is perfect for me!

What’s the worst part of your day?

I don’t really have a worst part of the day – may sound strange, but true! I enjoy my role here – and try to remain positive regardless of what is thrown at me or the team. So I genuinely don’t have a worst day example! Everyone has parts of their role they enjoy more than others – its just human nature!

Would you recommend Travelopia as a great place to work? If so, why? And if not – Why not!

I would certainly recommend Travelopia as a great place to work. The people here who make up our teams are fun to be around, all share a passion for Travel and providing our customers with truly inspirational travel experiences. So yes, if you want to be in an organisation that is constantly growing and striving for great things – Travelopia is for you!

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF ALISON CANDLISH – HEAD OF IT DELIVERY

So, how do you begin your day?

My day begins catching up with my team as they arrive for work and preparing for the day ahead and what the priorities are for the day. Our team’s wellbeing is critical to the success of what we need to do, we work in a fast pace changing environment and we have a number of exciting projects in flight that need high energy. We are lucky enough to work within a team and business that share the drive and passion and have fun at the same time!

Have your responsibilities changed? If so how?

I have had fantastic opportunities within my career at Travelopia starting as a Call Centre Manager and now as Head of IT Delivery for our Tailormade brands and part of our Leadership team. Over the years I have had the opportunity to grow, develop and progress having worked across different divisions of the business, in different roles and have been lucky enough to travel to a number of our locations. When I joined Travelopia in a sales role I would never have expected to have moved into an IT role, however, with the support and opportunities provided coupled with hard work anything is possible!

Describe your workload. Does it vary?

Working in a project delivery team the workload is always varied and exciting. We work across all the brands within the division supporting delivery of new initiatives whether this be new website enhancements or developments to other key systems to help our sales teams and making sure the systems are behaving themselves for our teams! Working for a holiday company can make even those mundane tasks exciting because we know that we are all contributing to giving someone a fantastic holiday of a lifetime….memory makers.

What’s the worst part of your day?

The worst part of my day is sitting on the 5th floor of our building and watching the flights take off at Gatwick airport for everyone going on holiday…hopefully booked through us!

Would you recommend Travelopia as a great place to work? If so, why? And if not – Why not!

Yes I would absolutely recommend Travelopia as a great place to work. Our organisation is powered by people that share the same passion and drive to be the best across our exciting collection of brands worldwide. It really is the people that make the difference regardless of your role everyone has an important part to play. Travelopia offers great opportunities in a hardworking but fun and rewarding environment.
